I have been a huge fan of Represent magazine since I learned about it a few years back. It's a magazine for kids in foster care, written by kids in foster care. I used to print out copies of stories for my mentee to read. I strongly believe that knowing you aren't alone is a huge help to anyone suffering in silence - like a lot of our youth do. This magazine is an excellent tool and I strongly recommend a subscription if you work with teens in care.

CONGRATULATIONS VERONICA!

Our very own community outreach specialist, Veronica Black, has just welcomed TWO more boys into her home! Children Awaiting Parents was there (of course!) as the family did a hero's welcome for them, meeting them at the airport with balloons and cupcakes. The boys were nothing less than adorable and we're so happy for Veronica and her beautiful, growing family. Welcome home, boys!

MARK AND AUDREY

Check out this great moment Melanie was able to capture the other day. This is Mark Soule, our Executive Director, and his caseworker, Audrey Click. When Mark was just a wee little one, his caseworker presented him to the Soules for adoption, and the rest is history. What a cool photo!

NACAC

Mark and I returned from the NACAC conference on Saturday. We attended some really great workshops and learned a lot - nothing new for the North American Council on Adoptable Children. Next year's workshop will be in Toronto and we're super excited about that! Only a few hours from home!
